Learning that you may be owed funds can bring both hope and questions. We want you to understand the process before you make any decision.
What are surplus funds?+
Surplus funds are proceeds that may remain after a property is sold through a mortgage foreclosure or tax sale and qualifying debts and approved costs are paid. Depending on the circumstances, those funds may belong to the former owner or eligible heirs.
How do I know if I may be owed money?+
EverRight reviews available public records connected to the property, sale, court case, or government agency. A preliminary review can help determine whether funds may exist and whether you may have a potential interest in them.
Can I pursue the funds myself?+
Yes. Eligible individuals may pursue claims directly through the court or government agency holding the funds, often without hiring a recovery service. EverRight provides research, document coordination, and guided support for people who prefer assistance.
What information is needed to begin?+
To start, we may ask for your name, contact information, the property address, the former owner’s name, and any case details you already have. Please do not send Social Security numbers, banking information, identification documents, or other sensitive records through regular email.
Do I have to pay anything upfront?+
Your service agreement will clearly explain any fees before you decide to move forward. Never sign an agreement you do not understand. EverRight will answer your questions and provide time for you to review the terms.
How long does the recovery process take?+
Timing varies by state, county, court, claim complexity, required documentation, competing claims, liens, and whether an estate is involved. We provide realistic expectations after the preliminary research, but no exact timeline can be guaranteed.
Can heirs recover funds for a deceased relative?+
Possibly. Eligible heirs or estate representatives may be able to pursue funds connected to a deceased person. Additional documents, such as a death certificate, estate records, or proof of relationship, may be required.
What if there are multiple heirs?+
The court or agency may require information from all eligible heirs or an authorized estate representative. The exact process depends on the jurisdiction and the facts of the claim.
What if there are liens or other claims against the funds?+
Valid liens, judgments, taxes, mortgages, or competing claims may affect the amount available and who is entitled to receive it. The agency or court holding the funds makes the final determination.
Will I receive the full amount shown in public records?+
Not necessarily. Public records may show a gross surplus before valid liens, court costs, taxes, service fees, or other approved claims are resolved. The final amount can only be determined after the claim is reviewed and approved.
Is recovery guaranteed?+
No. Every claim is different, and no recovery company can guarantee eligibility, approval, timing, or a specific dollar amount. The court or government agency holding the funds makes the final decision.
Is EverRight a government agency or law firm?+
No. EverRight Funds Recovery LLC is a private funds recovery service and is not affiliated with any federal, state, county, or local government agency. EverRight does not provide legal or tax advice.
